Piston poppin

May 04, 2010 22:36

So the guy came by this morning and took out he piston in the machine. He made it look so easy. Hardest thing was bleeding out all that oil. He took it away to be repacked. It was ready this afternoon, but I had to run, so he'll throw it in tomorrow morning.
I also have to have him look at a new oil drip in the front end. Looks very gray brown greasy oily, smelly too. Not at all sure what it is, but I'm thinking it may be a seal in the transmission, or something like that. Hopefully something simple.
The guy also informed me that they don't make anything for my machine anymore as far as parts go. I should be ok for filters I hope, but forget things like pistons. At least from what he found.

I picked up two more jap maples seedlings today. Hopefully they will survive. Dey are toe cute.

I made the mistake of buying Prince spaghetti. Never again. The 12oz vs. 16oz switcheroo. Damn them.

I drove the other riding mower today while Biv. weed whipped, and I don't like the hesitation I'm feeling. It may well be that this mower is on its last legs too. I've decided to go with the John Deere, and just need to make arrangements to get it. I have to have at least one reliable mower right now.

I've been helping out at the school for the last few days and last week too. I've gotten behind in my blogging. lol

The census workers have been out and about around here.

mowing, trees, digging
