I've been quiet on the whole Heath matter, and deliberately so. I think everything that needs to be said has been done so. Nevertheless, I just wish the media would leave it alone. For someone who hated being in the public eye, I'm sure he would've detested the thought of photographers capturing the body bag on camera. And then swarming Michelle the next day. It's absolutely horrendous, but I suppose that's just how it rolls these days.

It's been a twisted week for Australian cinema. Heath passes; Cate Blanchett gets two Oscar noms, one for a film they were both in; all while the annual G'Day USA Australia Week began in New York where he died. It's a weird cycle. Anyway, gotta shake the melancholy from this entry now.

Coincidentally I was watching this clip last week, which shows various Australian actors in their early days. I mean, check out Mel Gibson's drawl and Nicole Kidman's hair! Amusement factor is rather high, except for the snippet of an 18 year-old Heath on Home & Away which just makes you feel mellow now. But this isn't to dwell on that, as I was going to post this anyway until the unthinkable occurred.

On a more cheerful note: Happy Australia Day to my li'l Aussies, or honourary ones for that matter. ;) Drink some beer or Bacardi if you're like me, watch the Women's Singles Final of the tennis, and sing Land Down Under at the top of your lungs. You know you want to.

And my last owing meme, for which I'm surprised tearcreek hasn't kicked me over yet.

-Each blogger starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
-Bloggers that are tagged need to write on their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
-At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.

Previous editions: One, Two, Three and Four, Five. I'm seriously running out of facts about myself.

1. I love puns. The lamer they are, the more I'm guaranteed to laugh.
2. Having said that, I love subtle humour on TV and in the movies. Laughing tracks are generally a no-no in my book. I don't need to be told when to laugh, thank you very much.
3. I don't actually own pyjamas these days. I wear trackpants and tops and stuff that have gone too baggy/stretched/whatever to wear in public, but are still totally wearable. I will, one day, pop out to Peter Alexander's and buy one of his pretty, pretty designs though. Or, y'know, Cotton On Body because I'm a Cotton On whore.
4. My toenails are permanently painted purple or crimson. I've done them for so long that I think it'll be weird if they were plain.
5. I still use iTunes 6 (as opposed to 7.6). I just can't be bothered downloading the new ones all the time, plus it's a terribly waste of precious bandwidth that could go towards more important things like, uh, YouTube.
6. I love having a chunky bunch of keys. To be honest, I only have three keys (house, car, work) but five keyrings attached.
7. I feel uneasy if I don't have my mug or two of green tea in the morning. Screw breakfast, but I can't go anywhere without having my bloody tea!
8. I always draft out cards before I write them. I'm anal like that.

I'm confused as to why I'm only using 98 of 107 userpics at the moment. That's odd and kind of unlike me. Note to self: must add more. ;)
