Yuletide Letter

Dear Yuletide Writer,

Thank you for volunteering to write for me. I’m glad that we share at least one fandom, and I look forward to reading your story on Christmas day - I’m sure it will be brilliant since you are clearly wonderful for choosing these fandoms in the first place! I have tried not to be too specific in my descriptions and to allow you plenty of freedom to write - although I feel my enthusiasm may have slipped through despite my intentions.

If you would like a little more information on my general likes and dislikes, I will be discussing those below. Do not be alarmed, these are simply meant to be guidelines. Because these fandoms have so little written about them, I am keenly interested in your take on the series/book as well.

Dislikes:
I generally dislike sad endings or character deaths, but for at least two of the three fandoms below, character death it is quite canon. That said, I would prefer a bittersweet ending as opposed to outright angst. If you can actually give me a fluffy ending, I will be very happy.
Other dislikes: mpreg

Likes: fluff, angst, humour, wit, sarcasm, plot, adventure, mystery
I am slash inclined, but I also like gen.

I like canon as much as I like outrageous AUs. Mostly though, I just like seeing the characters being their flawed, wonderful selves. If I have specified a pairing, it’s because I love their dynamic. If you don’t want to write slash, feel free to write gen, preferably with a focus on those characters.

Romance: If you happen to be a slash writer, then I would love some romance from you! I especially have a weakness for romance of the subtle kind. I like slow build-ups and easy pacing. On the other hand, I also like awkward outbursts of confessions. Take your pick, I’m actually easily moved.

Pet Shop of Horrors
Feel free to write post-series, episode based, alternative universe etc, I don't mind.

I love the interaction between Count D and Leon. The ending for the series is mysterious, I’ve always wondered whether they would find each other again. Somehow, I believe that what they have is strong enough for this to happen... maybe?
The chapters themselves are another source of inspiration. I love the magic, the adventure, the mystery, the sometimes dark and sometimes romantic backgrounds of their clients.
I love the characters as they are. I like D’s flamboyant yet beautiful wardrobe choices, I like the fact he is man; so my only request for this fandom, is that you don’t turn him into a woman.

Picture of Dorian Gray - Oscar Wilde

You are a brave, courageous soul for signing up to write on this brilliant book.
I will be so happy just to receive a story from this fandom, that I really don’t have any specific requests. You are automatically awesome in my eyes for choosing this fandom. Just write what you’ve always wanted to write in relation to the book, I’m sure I’ll love it. M/M, M/F, other - I don’t even care when it comes to this book.

My only request is that it focuses on Dorian. If you can squeeze Lord Henry in there somewhere, I will be having an awesome Christmas day.

Cain Saga and Godchild

Cain and Riff’s relationship has always been my favourite aspect of the series. Cain is brilliant, yet reckless and Riff is his silent support and strength. The trust that exists between them, when considered with questions of Riff’s alliances is the perfect backdrop for some angst (… along with some fluff if you truly are, that brilliant).
The series itself is amazing. Kaori Yuki is my favourite mangaka and this series has both beauty and plot. The decadent atmosphere, the mysteries, the deaths - I love them all. On that note, a plot heavy or adventure/mystery story is also very welcome (if romance is not your thing). Feel free to poison anyone, except Cain and Riff.

I know I requested something quite specific in the details of my request, but that is simply meant to be a guide. Honestly, I’ll be quite happy with anything from this manga, as long as I’m able to feel the general vibe of this series.

Well, I hope that hasn’t been too daunting. Just take everything I’ve written as a guideline. I hope I’ve been able to convey my love for these fandoms. Simply having something written for me will make me very happy, especially in these fandoms.

Have fun!

yuletide
