Ready for water action
I bought a hard-shell sit-in kayak yesterday! According to the information from the store-owner/kayaking-afficionado, it is a recreational/light-touring hybrid due to the singe bulkhead, moderately slim lines and slightly longer length (than standard recreational). I'll post pictures soon - probably going out to the lake tomorrow for an inaugural voyage. I got a good price for it as it is a 2006 model that was on consignment. It is in good condition with only marginal scoring of the underside, etc.
I've been wanting a kayak for some time now and I decided it was time. Yesterday Sa_briel and I went around town looking at sales and such for various things. We got her some new snowboarding pants, both of us got some new shoes, and ultimately I got the kayak. I still need a barbecue, which I saw one I liked at Sears for about $200. I might go get it as soon as I finish researching it. :)
