Screw this

Tomorrow may be my last day at my present employment. For whatever reason, I'm not allowed to work on shift until I talk to this person Shawn (who is female, which makes no sense given the name). Why do I have to talk to her? No bloody idea. She wouldn't tell me.

Now, considering I don't beat on the residents (as I think some people do), I don't steal from the place (as some people do), and I don't spend all shift on my cell phone (as most people do) I have no idea what the hell this is for. Perhaps it is because I don't get along with most of my co-workers, probably because I refuse to sit with them watching reality television, stupid programming about loser celebrities, or gossip about those that work there.

Yet, I fail to see where my relationship with my co-workers matters. I'm content to ignore them if there isn't anything pertanent to my ability to do my job. After all, I thought this job was supposed to be about how I interact with those that live there. Then again, it's not like any place actually does with their mission statement states.

So, I'm going to give this person about five minutes. I figure that within that time frame, i should be able to ascertain the direction that the conversation will be going. If it is about something totally stupid and asinine, then I walk. I like my job and I like the people that live there, but I don't need the bullshit that i have to deal with from those that work there.

people, employment, job
