Since it's Monday I have the internetz back again. Woohoo. I'm still avoiding spoilers about HP:DH because I'm only half through. I was going to be hardcore and read all night like everyone else I know (except Bethany =( but I found myself very reluctant to rush through any of it. I'm so sad about this being the last book, I just want to savor it. So instead I helped my roommate paint her room and went to a bbq meeting for Chorus and took breaks for a few hours leisurely reading between other activities. When I get home tonight I'll probably settle in to bust through another 2 or 3 hundred pages, but I'm going to try not to stay up all night reading.
This is yet another sign that I don't really like change. When my favorite tv show went off the air I refused to watch the finale for over a year cause I didn't want to acknowledge that it was really over. I'm attached to the HP characters in the same way and I just have to drag my feet more and more as I get closer to the finish line. I know that JKR has wrapped everything up in a nice neat epilogue but I'm not sure how I'm going to feel about it when I get there. On the one hand it's good to have some closure, but on the other I really resent the finality of the whole thing. *woe*
I'll stop whining now. So to distract myself from the last bit of waiting before the book came out, I went shopping. I do love a good sale and unfortunately I'd had to throw out one of my favorite bras cause it was all stretched out, so I thought hey I'll go get something new & pretty to keep me busy. 4 hours later I never want to try on a bra again. I'm sure every woman has heard by now the much quoted Oprah statistic that 8 in 10 women (or something equally ridiculous) is wearing the wrong bra size. My mother saw the first big episode that Oprah did with the fitters from Nordstrom and some lingerie company lady so we went down to Nordie's about a year ago to get fitted. Turns out I was wearing the right size and I bought some lovely bras. Well I come back a year later cause my straps are always falling down or riding up or whatever they do to constantly require adjusting and they tell me "oh no you need to be refitted". So now I have a completely different bra size and buy three new bras. I swear this is a giant conspiracy by the industry to boost sales. But I will admit that the new bras do actually stay where their supposed to, which is a refreshing change. And now I don't get stabbed in the ribcage by the pointy ends of underwire anymore! Huzzah!
And to finish out my weekend of complete wastefulness Rita (the new roomie) and I decided to adopt kitties! I'll post pictures soon.
