Quick Earthquake Update
So, a quick earthquake update. For those wondering, I am not in Christchurch, so all the people who were worried and were leaving me worried tweets for me to find when I came back from camp... I'm okay. Slept through the shudders felt here, although other girls and my Nana felt it.
But we're not quake free. We had two quakes here yesterday, not too big but definitely noticeable.
My friend (and beta), bakaknight who's in Christchurch is okay, they have had the occasional power outage, but apart from having to clean up stuff that fell over, the worst thing to happen to her is that one of the cats was in a state after the quake, and so jumped up and peed on her in fright.
My great-aunt (in her 80s, going blind) lives in Kaiapoi, which is one of the hardest hit areas. A cousin went and got her and took her home (to the other side of the South Island really) and Mum just got word this morning that the three houses around my great-aunt's house (they have a tiny little lane thing with four little houses on it) have all been condemned. No word as to whether her house is the same, but it's pretty likely considering the houses are the same. Still no visual sign of the cat, although the food that's been left for it is being eaten.
