see you in september, see you when the summer's through...

Well, today I have given up the ghost of summer, by wearing a corduroy jacket and crushed-velvet ballet flats. Goodbye, summer. You were altogether too short. On the way to Six Flags New England yesterday, I noticed that some trees were already beginning to turn. I can't wait to hike Wachusett in a couple of weeks... it will be absolutely gorgeous. Seems like that would be a good time to start trying to get into digital photography...

Headed to Six Flags on Sunday with a rather diverse people-pile... it was a grand old time. I love the Superman coaster so very much. kdaq and I rode the front row for the first ride of the day, which was an amazing time! Cedar Point turned me, him, and zeeke42 into front-row people. Dangerous stuff, man, but so much fun. We also rode the extreme back row, which was also insanely cool - in the front row, you're at the forefront of everything, and you can see the hills in front of you so clearly, but when you're in the front and you crest that first hill, there's this couple seconds where you're travelling downwards slowly while the rest of the train catches up and you're just staring down the hill, wondering what the hell you were thinking when you got on the coaster. In the back row, when you're nearly to the top of the hill, you're already speeding up, and you just whip over the crest and start dropping like a demon, which is freakin sweet. So much more airtime in the back, the curves are more intense... man, it's good. I love being at the front of the train too though, having a front-row seat of what's coming up. We also rode a couple times in the middle. Ride breakdown: 4 times total on Superman, 3 or 4 times on Batman, twice on Tomahawk (swingy spinny pendulum frisbee ride, which was super-fun), once on Mind Eraser, once on Flashback, once on Thunderbolt, holy-crap-super-spinny-fun-times on the Teacups, and a few other miscellaneous rides. The weather was perfect, the crowds were super-low, the atmosphere within the group was... awkward, but it was still a fun time.

I'm looking forward to possibly getting some time this week to sort out cleaning, organization, finances, etc. With all of the events of the past month, I've let a bunch of that stuff slip, and now I'm at the point of wanting to be completely organized, so that I can enjoy my leisure time even more, if that makes sense. At the same time though, I want to just have fun in my non-working hours, but I know that being all responsible and organized is part of being an adult, so yup, I'm gonna get on that.

I know I had more ramblyness to write, but eh, it's almost time to leave and head out to F'ham and make pad thai and green curry lamb meatballs!

roller coasters, friends
