Mix CD - "Smile Like You Mean It"
Happy 2010, arbitrary of an anniversary as it is and all :) Spring always feels more like a new year to me. We had a couple of days of thawing recently and the amount of light and the temperature and the smell of the mud and the grass all made it feel like late March, which was great. I really enjoy that time of year. I woke up to snow, though, and I'm still in my pajamas, rokking some bed head, and remembering to finally update this thing.
Nothing really interesting to post at the moment. Working on the prequel to my pirate story still. Thinking about which parts of my NaNo book I want to use for what. I'm thinking that it would make two great teenage/young adult pulp novels. I'm still kind of loathe to dive back in. So I've been doing lots of research on various New England weird sites. Lots of driving around, hiking, taking photos, and LOTS of reading. It's been fun :) Weird stuff is not hard to find in NE.
Hopefully if the weather clears tomorrow M and I will be going to the Scituate Reservoir, which used to be the site of five different villages. They were all razed to make room for the reservoir. Lots of dairy farms and mills, and all of the trees had to be cut and the stumps pulled out before they could flood the area. Very interesting.
I made a new Mix CD on the 30th called, for lack of a more original title, "Smile Like You Mean It." It's probably half of my perfect fall CD mixed with some early winter stuff, so rather seasonally appropriate. I pulled a bunch of stuff from the Christmas Eve album, which kind of had a spilt personality, and fleshed it out with some other songs that seemed to match up better.
