Title: Packing
Pairing: K/D (seriously! I mean it!)
Notes: It's quite short, but the idea occured to me on the plane so I went for it.

Dorian's bedroom was huge. It had always struck Klaus as being much larger than necessary, but with the paintings off of the walls and the statue of Eros missing, the rooms seemed almost cavernous. Klaus was standing by the balcony doors, turning an unlit cigarette in his fingers. he felt the impulse to run.

"Klaus! This is impossible!" To grab Dorian and run.

Dorian stomped out of the grand walk-in closet, clutching a garish teal silk robe. "That's hideous," Klaus said.

"I know," Dorian rolled his eyes. "But it was my father's. I don't want to abandon it." Dorian's lower lip trembled and he leaned heavily against the door. Klaus closed the distance between them, fitting his body up against Dorian's side and dipping his hand under Dorian's tangle of curls. Dorian tipped his head back into Klaus' hand. It had been a very trying month for Dorian, but it was nearly over.

"You're not throwing them away. They're just going into the attic."

Dorian sighed again. The decision to turn the castle over to his nephew, to avoid the inevitable fight when he was too elderly to defend himself, had been a difficult one. Klaus gathered him close. "It's hard because I won't be coming back."
