Hallo!
A quick post to let you all know I"m still alive but I have been mega busy! I haven't stopped since I got home, except for a couple of stolen moments to watch a couple of old movies. :p It's been ages since I saw Steel Magnolias and I couldn't remember much about it so when it came on night before last night, I stopped what I was doing, sat down for a while and ended up having a very good cry. Then yesterday I stole a few moments in between yard work and shampooing my carpets to watch Practical Magic. That one was cute and at least it didn't leave me bawling. lol
Orlando was wonderful! I went on a Volksmarch through the town of Celebration. It was built in the nineties to house Disney employees...such a beautiful and quaint little town. I also strolled through the City Walk outside the Universal Theme park, shopped at Hard Rock and ate at Bubba Gumps. That was a fun evening. But most of my week was filled with financial workshops, speeches by very motivating people and chatting with old friends that I knew from our previous bases.
The grand finale was the best! I did get to see the Space Shuttle Discovery lift off! *bounces* You have no idea the power behind that event until you are actually there, feeling the vibrations, seeing the glow and hearing the roar of the rockets!! I wish somehow my pictures captured it, but they do not even come close. It is a memory that will have to reside within me. ;) Well, here is the vapor trail anyway.
Oh! And a bit of anxious news...my boss got a call from the supervisor of one of the jobs I applied for. He wanted to know if my boss thought I was any good...he told him I was excellent!! I though that was really nice of him considering the stress he will go through without me there...but then he dove into some heavy training with me later. LOL Who knows if that supervisor will pick me, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. ;) It's not a promotion in money, but a step up in position; I'll be a Group Resource Advisor, overseeing several Unit Resource Advisors.. :)
Well, now I've gotta run...I'm off to a BBQ at my daughter's new house. I'll try to get caught up on all of your journals soon! Have a wonderful Sunday (what's left of it) to all of my Preciousessss! *snuggles and hugs*
