a week of feasting

Beginning this Friday, I am going to have a week of heavy feasting. I'm betting on a gain of 10-15 pounds.

Friday: My team at work is having a "pre-Thanksgiving feast" for which each of us are brining a dish. I'm bringing green bean casserole. What? I'm a sucker for the traditional stuff.

Sunday: My college friends used to get together starting my junior year for a college thanksgiving feast. Some of my friends actually prefer it to their actual Thanksgiving feast. Everybody brings something. This year I'm hosting and doing the Turkey - the first Turkey I've ever cooked. More on that later.

Wednesday 11/21: Slava at my aunt & uncle's house. Huge feast. Very good food.

Thursday: Thanksgiving at my sister's house. More very good food. Stealing left overs.

So yes, I'm going to have to start working out again very soon.

Okay, let's talk turkey. Literally. I've never made a Turkey. My current plans involve doing what my sister has done the last couple years: brining a fresh turkey for a 12-24 hours, stuffing with lemons, oranges, onions, herbs, and placing herbs and butter under the skin.

Any tips or suggestions?
