bsg season 3
I watched A LOT of BSG Season 3 on this three day weekend. I have four episodes to go, which wyvern_x and phaedra_amunent describe as 'glorious torture'. Can't wait.
Anyway, instead of blogging little bits about what I thought of each episode so far, I thought I'd blog a few general comments and just open it up to questions about what I thought about the episodes, if any.
- I am much happier with the way Season 3 progressed than I was at the start of the Season. I just didn't like the time on New Caprica. At least, I wouldn't have liked it long term. Knowing now that they go back to the fleet after a few episodes, I think I'd enjoy those spent on New Caprica better if I watched them again. Overall, I am really enjoying Season 3. Glad I stuck with it.
- Baltar's drug-induced interrogation: hmm, he felt like he was going to drown? Could the references to waterboarding be any more obvious?
- A few thoughts about the last episode I watched: the Tylium refinery strike. Give me a break. You don't strike fuel when the Cylons could show up at any moment and you need to jump away. The conditions needed to improve but a strike and attempted extortion are asinine ideas. As is Tyrol's problem with people not being able to choose their jobs. Um, sorry, when you're down to 40,000 humans alive and on the run from a genocidal force trying to obliterate your existence, freedom of career choice gets knocked down in the priority list a bit. They need fuel to survive. Those that can work the fuel, work the fuel. The fuel must flow (I was SO hoping that would be a line). Anyway, good episode overall. They tried REALLY hard to make me feel bad for the Tylium workers, but the fact that they were down to 40,000 humans alive and on the run kept me from feeling their pain too much.
- Finally, ridiculously superficial comments: I'm very glad that three things are gone: Adama's mustache, Apollo's fake weight, and Starbuck's long hair (though it's still not as short as I'd like).
