friday randomness
I'm gonna try to post here more often with smaller posts. I got into that "everything I post must be genius or extremely interesting" mindset when we all know that's not what blogs are usually about. So here are some random thoughts for today:
Today I had lunch at a relatively authentic Italian "Pizzeria Piccola". I savored their Pizza con Pancetta: Tomatoes, Mozzerella, Fresh Basil, Pancetta (basically Italian Bacon). Topped it off with gelato (vanilla with chocolate flakes). I know, Phaedra, your opinion of this place isn't incredibly high, but it was the most authentic Italian pizza I've had since I was in Rome. Quite Tasty!
I have to get something off my chest. Kelly Clarkson. I like her. No, not just as in her hottitude (which is an added bonus). I mean her music. I got into my car after lunch and one of her songs was on the radio - I forget which one - and I decided: "Dammit I really like her music and I don't care who knows it!" So there. Judge me. :-P
I have a 30-45 minute vocal gig with my men's a cappella ensemble, "The Naturals," at the Swanky "Wisconsin Club" as entertainment for some fundraiser. Note the capital S in Swanky. I've heard tell that the club membership is $40K - per year. I know, it's disgusting. AND we're only getting paid in food. But I figure,
A) Good publicity for Milwaukee's Movers and Shakers who may want entertainment at their Christmas parties,
B) I'm sure it will be amazing food (ladies, they way to my heart is not through my stomach, my heart IS my stomach)
C) It's a fundraiser for some Worthy Cause (I forget what exactly it is) so I don't mind not getting paid. It's not like I'd actually get the money anyway.
Anyway, I feel a litle weird going to this very fancy place and singing for their VIPs. I have a solo and everything ("In the Still of the Night" again). Eep! We're doing other beloved songs such as One Fine Day, Goodnight Sweetheart, Coney Island Baby, Can You Feel the Love Tonight and other goodies. I can't wait. But still. Eep!
FINALLY, I just realized that I've had this blog for just over a year now. This is definitely the longest I've held interest in something like this and it's mostly to you online friends who keep reading this thing despite its often boring content. So thanks for reading.
