I've been thinking a lot about what I use this journal for. I don't post huge amounts of personal info - I don't post huge amounts of info at all. What I have been posting more and more of over recent months are detailed reviews of what I have been reading, as well as the shorter discussions about what I am writing

How much research do you do for your writing? If writing fanfic do you obsessively check canon details or decide not to worry whether you get little details wrong? If writing historical fiction do you just try and get a general flavour for your period and don't really bother if it's not 100% accurate because you can never be 100% accurate or do you

Congrats to heidi8 for getting quotage in Thursday's Guardian. It was an interesting article about writing and the internet. Apparently ten years ago those in lit circles felt that the internet would prove to be THE END OF WRITING AS WE KNOW IT. Of course it hasn't done so. The story itself isn't Christmassy , but given that it's kinda traditional to do ghost stories at this time of year, and this is something I wrote a week or so ago I thought you might enjoy it.

Semi productive week, I think. I finished editing the prologe of CD and started on chapter 1. Scrub that. I finshed this tranche of editing the prologue. Had a panic about names. Two of the names were far too similar and I've had to change one. It's hard and I'm finding it very difficult to make the change. Note to self: in future try and actually
