[OPEN] Two young Frenchmen baking!
The younger Armand needed someone to help. He's not a great cook or baker, but he wanted to make frosted Christmas cookies, and gingerbread. This season so far is very lacking in cookies. And his waistline is showing it. Albert is looking a little thinner too, because he's been hiding from Melou and doesn't dare be in the kitchen on his own.
So they team up and bake. By afternoon, both of them have flour in odd places--hair, clothes, under fingernails, shoes--and they've eaten enough sugary treats downed with tea that they're giddy, but they're still baking. There's a jar of cookies of two types, frosted butter cookies and gingerbread, and racks with still cooling cookies on the counter. The sink has a sticky bowls and spoons piled into it. The kitchen is almost as much a mess as they are.
Albert puts another batch into the oven and collapses into a chair dramatically. "Is that it?" he asks.
Armand straightens from his examination of the refrigerator. "I think so. I cannot find anymore butter."
