And days of auld lang syne...

On the last night of the old year, a change has come over the main rooms of the mansion. Decorations have been hung, bowls of confetti stand ready, noise makers and party hats are scattered throughout the rooms. There are tables laden with food, ranging from light snacks to rich desserts. Other tables hold drinks, from enough bottles to make any sort of cocktail to simple sparkling cider that even the children can drink. There are, of course, plenty of flutes of champagne with which to ring in the new year.

Jack Frost has noticed the festive mood of the house and provided his own additions, beautiful frost patterns crawl up the windows and a layer of fresh, sparkling snow coats the ground outside, perfect for building snowmen or starting snowball fights. He'd be happy to help start one.

Of course, things in the mansion are rarely as simple as they seem. One might enjoy the party with no ill effects beyond perhaps a hangover the next morning. Others with worse luck might pick up the wrong decoration, eat the wrong snack, drink the wrong drink, sit on the wrong couch, even walk through the wrong door, and find themselves changed in strange ways.

In celebration for surviving the Carpocalypse and for the new year, have a party! And a more lighthearted, old-fashioned sort of crackplot: A character might find themselves changed back into a child or a child aged up into an adult, they might be turned into an animal (or an animal turned into a human!), men might find themselves turned into women or women into men, or the might find that they are compelled to truthfully answer all questions that they are asked.

In short: Kiddification, animal transformation, genderswap, truth potions.

Also, Jack Frost is about and can help inspire characters disinclined to enjoy themselves to have a little more fun, feel free to ask!

All effects are temporary, entirely voluntary and of the typist's choosing. Anyone who would prefer to simply enjoy the party with no magical effects are of course more than welcome to do so! Happy New Year!
