After all, Alice gets a steady paycheck, heads to crack open, and it's the only place she can work where people both respect and fear her. (Sure The Warden hits on her, but he's the one who gave her the job and pretty much encourages Alice to be who she is. His silly little crush is just a tiny pet peeve to deal with.)
Still, she's face-down in a place she knows fuck-all about because something went wrong. As always.
Her boss really needs more common sense sometimes.
