Okay, maybe i seem like a totally bipolar puppet to mood swings right now, i was moping around lj and now i'm flaunting my jazzed-ness, but seriously, it's been a combination of getting out of a mood and lots of deliberate action to get myself in a different direction. i don't feel manic right now at all, just thoroughly pleased with my day.
I had a GREAT night! I am so proud of myself. So i had set up more stuff for myself to do than there was actually time for -- which is awesome -- and the big one, getting myself out of my home without relying on anybody else to make it happen, had exactly the effect i knew it COULD have! First, I feel so jazzed that i made myself feel good in my own company, and went out and did my thing. It's totally something i WOULD do, and for some reason I've kind of lost that part of myself for a bit, and it feels so good to not be in that weird place.
So i found a coffee place that stays open late and isn't crazy far from me, and i LOVED it. Great vibe, lots of friendly people, i did my own thing and felt totally content. I had a totally uplifting phone conversation with one of my BEST friends, and when i left, i totally RANDOMLY ran into an old friend of mine!!! I RARELY go out at all, i'm NEVER in the area i was in, i've never even been to that coffee place before, i just happened to leave at the right time to see my friend coming from the parking lot...How bizarre, we were both totally taken back and kinda like, whooooa, weird! but definitely a good weird.
So yeah, i've just been having an awesome night, i'm really glad i made the decision to get out of my home, there's still plenty of things to get done around here for both work and play, but getting out and being among people is one of those special treasures for me in life and i really need to cultivate it more. Too much time in my own head is disasterous, seriously. It's not just oh, boring, or oh unpleasant, it fuels every potential bit of insanity in me possible. And i need to take that seriously, part of growing and progressing and embracing life is knowing what makes you feel alive and what deadens you, and i am definitely taking this lesson to heart.
Whoohoo! i just gave myself a hug!
