Hisoka waits beside the canoe, which is drawn up in a foot of water with its bow on the sand. Two paddles are in the bottom of the boat. Friends and strangers, all welcome!
If you've never set foot in a canoe, Hisoka will teach you how to paddle. Or Hisoka can chivalrously handle the boat while you trail your fingers in the water and sightsee. Some options: (1) Stay in the lake, (2) paddle up the small river that feeds the lake, (3) capsize the boat and have to swim for it. XD
Also, Hisoka made the boat for other people's use, not just his own, so it will be tied up down at the lakeshore as long as the good weather lasts. If any Mansion guests like, they can take the boat out by themselves later on. (Just don't bang it up too much. XD He'll make you help him repaint it.)
Oh, and the header is from an old camping song:
My paddle's clean and bright,
flashing like silver!
Swift as the wild goose flies --
dip, dip, and swing.
Technical Note: Hisoka’s canoe has traditional lapstrake construction, which means the planks or strips of its hull overlap each other (like the boards on the sides of an Eastern or midwestern clapboard-style house). It looks kind of like the ones in the photos on
this page (lol, not the kayak! -- the other two), and it is painted dark blue like the one in the bottom photo. The second image on
this page shows a craftsman building a boat using pretty much same techniques as Hisoka did.
