Is that even possible? With 50-54kg weight I was never able to drink the Russians under the table but I could stomach a bottle of white wine and several shots of vodka.
In Tokyo I began to drink wine in restaurants and bars but spirits at home because drinking a good whisky in a crowded, noisy restaurant where the air smelled of cigarette smoke (they're not big on the smoking ban yet, although some places are starting) is a bit of a waste of good drink. My limit was a bottle, and since cooking at home is often not cheaper at home, The Beau and I had dinner in Shibuya or Shinjuku three or four times a week, where I usually drank a bottle of wine (The Beau is not a big drinker and usually had only one glass).
The strange thing in Melbourne is, that lately I get sick after two glasses-not even! One and a half glasses! That's nothing!
I'm not even drunk. I just feel suddenly nauseaous, dizzy, have problems with my vision (I can't endure light and strong colours make me throw up!) ... and actually the whole incident feels more like I had too much Special K with LSD than just being drunk. I even have problem to hear properly because voices are kind of distorted.
Maybe it's an age thing? Does alcohol tolerance after thirty decrease? By the way, I have no problems with whisky or vodka-not that I drink enormous amounts but still.
Is it a weight thing? I somehow lost four kg or so during the last year, maybe because of the change of nutrition (since moving to Australia we eat mostly home-cooked food) and my change to veganism/vegetarianism.
The whole thing just puzzles me and I feel like twelve again, where one glass of berry wine was enough to make me drunk :P
Any ideas, friends?
