Ooh! This is fantastic! I do need to watch this show. Ugh, netflix, why must you taunt me so? So, if I were to prioritize, should I do Criminal Minds first, or Bones?
Thanks for your email. I am thinking about stuff. About staying home and about talking to j about his thoughts about the race. I know if he had his way I wouldn't run it, because it's going to be hot and I'm going to get dehydrated (unless I carry my own water supply, like a camel) and he's overprotective anyway. This just makes it worse.
Well if you do decide to run it and you don't already have one, it might not be a bad idea to look for a CamelBak at your local sporting goods store. Makes it easier to carry your own water supply hands-free.
As for shows, it depends what you want to watch. Bones is more lighthearted and silly, though the first two seasons are also quirky and interesting. Criminal Minds is darker and more serious, pretty heavy and sometimes depressing, but really well written. The writing is suffering lately, since Hollywood is firing all the good writers to save money, but for the first three seasons it was solid.
That's no help at all, of course. Wendell doesn't even turn up until season four of Bones, though, and if I'm being unbiased about pairings, CM is the better show.
Well, okay, pairing-wise, which do you prefer? Bones? But I'd have to wait until season four to even see this guy? I don't know, my friend Dave at work recommends Bones too, though I've never asked him about Criminal Minds, so who knows. I also can't exactly ask him which is more slashy. Damned job
( ... )
Pairing-wise, CM is way slashier. Way, waaaay slashier. Last night's episode aside, the thing that truly rocks about Wendell/Hodgins is the AU Liz and I have created for them. It is almost entirely independent of the show, and Hodgins isn't actually that slashy at all. Which is a first for me, because you know I am usually all about the realism.
I am going to say only this about that, and then I will take it back to e-mail: I had a feeling that was why you were waffling, and if your brother gives you shit I will drive up to Duluth and drop kick *him*. And I work out a LOT, so I could do it. There is no way it is not understandable, given the situation. He's a guy and they're dumb about stuff sometimes, but his wife would probably smack him around anyway. (Also, can't she step in? She's a runner.)
I was going to say something else. Maybe it will come back to me if I open an e-mail.
Oh, he totally wouldn't punt me. He was just being a shit. It's funny, if you know him, and if he knew, he would totally understand and probably roll his eyes and call me a moron for worrying about his feelings.
That said, I do appreciate the image of my 6'4" brother being punted by 5'0" woman. And yes, I KNOW, I am totally the runt of my family. :) I guess we have pretty tall genes.
Julie is very tiny too. My brother is used to getting beat up on by short women. He deserves it for using his size to his advantage WHEN HE WAS 10. AND I WAS 14. There is no justice in this world.

I'll let you know what we come up with.
