Cheerier Topics. Dwelling = bad.

--I'm currently reading two excellent books. One of which is the fourth book in Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series. I adore these books, I love it when an author can drop you into a wholly realized environment with characters that you worry about when the book ends. I know they're not everyone's cup of tea, though.

--I finished a Subversive Cross-stitch birthday card for a friend. My first attempt at metallic threads, I like the effect but they were a pain to stitch with. I'm almost halfway through the nativity scene I'm working on for Christmas, and a good way through another present I'm making for a birthday. Next, I'm starting a bib for some friends who expect the birth to be induced on the 27th. More Peter Rabbit, I always enjoy that. I'd like to do a Halloween piece, but I expect at the rate I'm working that I would not be able to finish it in time. I'd like to try stitching on perforated paper - I think it would be great to make really nice Christmas cards for people - a mini-present I could afford. I also have the coolest pattern coming in the mail:

I'm still not super LJ proficient so if that doesn't work, let me know! I came across that pattern and recognized the words but couldn't remember where they came from. God bless Google. It's been years since I read Sylvia Plath, but there are several poems of hers that I really do love.

I need to drag my camera out of the closet and photograph some of my works in progress for the cross stitch community. I'm such a novice, though.

--I'm not looking forward to coming into work tomorrow, but I put myself in this position, so I shouldn't complain. Sunday should be lovely, though. I like watching football with my husband. I love it when he explains things to me - I think he really enjoys doing it and it's rather cute. It's not like I don't know anything about football, but some of the nuances (what call did the referee just make and why, for example) are lost on me. And if I'm not feeling sad, there will be beer drinking.

cross stitch, sad, daily
