SGA 3.06: The Real World

Aug 27, 2006 17:59

I originally meant to write down my first impressions of the new SGA episodes every week but work and life generally has been so crazy I haven't had much time for LJ lately. I did write stuff down every time I watched a new episode but due to said busyness and - lets face it - my inherent laziness I never got around to posting any of it. So here I am, trying to mend my ways.

1) So, SGA writers and familiar but at the moment nameless actor: Congratulations for creating the creepiest, most condescending doctor that I've seen on TV for a while. I want to smack him and then wash my hands every single time he's on the screen.

2) Weir! You know, I actually liked Weir in this. I'm quite proud of myself. *grins* We don't get that much new information on her previous life but we get to see her doing something else than sending people off on missions. I want more active!Weir!

3) When you wake up in a mental hospital with Jack O'Neill standing next to your bed in dress blues you know there's something wrong with the picture. Really. "They're worried. Frankly, so am I." Yeah, me too. What the hell are you doing watching me sleep?

4) Other that that Jack was great. Her interaction with Weir was fun. "... he said awkwardly."

5) Carson being smart! Whee! I hate the whole retro virus -plot line passionately and it's great to see him doing something else and being actually useful for a change. The writers have him making so many bad choices it's hard to love him at times but now he's being redeemed.

6) Half of the episode is full of Sheppard with a scrunchy little worried face. So! Cute! Also, Sheppard doing stupid and potentially life-threatening things to save his loved-ones. Lalalalalaa! I'm happy.
