...until about 5 minutes ago. "Mayhem" and "maim" have the same root, with mayhem originally meaning wilfully injuring someone. Weird.

So, I have shiny new phone. And it is shiny. Somewhat annoyingly, I've been having trouble syncing it with my machine. Look for newer version of ActiveSync... no, that's okay. Look for discussions online and, apparently, the phone suffers occasionally from dirty contacts and a quick wipe with a cotton bud can fix it. Do that. Still no joy. ( Read more... )

I just came across this Wired article via wilwheaton's journal. It's based on Hemingway's six word story: "For sale: baby shoes, never worn." They've got various famous people to write their own.

Scrolling through, some are amusing, others a bit crappy. But then I saw Margaret Atwood's: Longed for him. Got him. Shit.
