X factor thoughts

Based on the first two weeks, my ideal final would have 2 people in it. Undecided on who the third would be. The two people I would definitely want in there are Diana and Eoghan.

I really loved Diana in the auditions, but thought she'd be out moderately early for the, as Simon put it, Marmite factor. I think she's been stunning in both her performances. Eoghan, while watching the first live show, had my skin goose-pimpling with his performance of Imagine.

The third place, it's hard to say. Alexandra is a good possibility, although if she's losing her voice at this stage, who knows what could happen? Austin has been good, but I've had glitches both weeks. The first week, I felt he stumbled over the tempo change. The second week, I think his diction disappeared in a few places. I quite liked the arrangement.

Talking of arrangements, who the hell does them? The first week, I thought the arrangement of the Roxette song was all over the place. I wish they'd kick whoever was doing them.

Scott picked up this week. His song in the first week was clearly awful. Listening to it, though, I thought a weakness was showing in his voice when he was walking around, his voice just faultered. However, Rachel doing Dirty Diana seemed to be using the same style of microphone, and her voice dipped in and out. Top tip: throw those microphones away. Rachel hasn't lived up to her potential, and based on the current performances I'd be surprised if she reached the final.

The bottom two should have been Daniel and Girl Band. If Girl Band had pulled out that performance of Aerosmith, I can't imagine Daniel having anything to compete. He's just not very good. His performances have been very cabaret. He shouldn't have been in it, he shouldn't be there now.

Simon's insistence on Ruth singing to her Spanish side is really frustrating. He was absolutely shocking in his choice to go to deadlock. Girl Band did well, but Ruth was astounding. Okay, she didn't sing in Spanish with her tits out for you, but she was absolutely incredible.

Laura, I don't think is as good as they say she is. JLS, I haven't really enjoyed either of their performances. Technically, they've been good, but in terms of listening/viewing pleasure, no.
