Fist Full of Steel

Dec 15, 2006 00:33

More like face full of steel, actually. I damn near blinded myself last night in an encounter with my needlenose pliers. I was working on my jacket and using the pliers to turn the sleeve bands right-side-out because the fabric is so thick. Then the pliers slipped and the needlenose end hit me straight in the eye. I effectively punched myself in the eye with my pliers. I immediately thought of a dream I had once where a little boy's eye was melting together and dripping out of its socket, and thought that I must have ruptured my eye, which scared the living hell out of me. A quarter inch to the right and I probably WOULD have lost sight. But as it happened, I managed to miss everything vital and just ruptured a blood vessel. Bruised eyeball, in short. I thank God for that.

....And that's about the most exciting thing I have to report right now. I got an A- in Figure Drawing. I'm almost done with my screw driver in metal shop. I posted my last two 20Below illustrations on my little website... I have two more paintings done, too, but haven't posted those yet. Sooner or later I will.

Winter break's going to kick ass. I'm working pretty much all day on Sunday, and I'll probably work some at the shop most days, but it should be fun. I'm going to make the most excellent futuristic fairy princess dress this town's ever seen.

Also, that wretched bane of my existance, the Caledonian, finally came out today. There are a couple of odd errors, but I take no responsibility for them because the advisors should have caught them when they gave it a final look-over before sending it to print. So there. I will now proceed to avoid it like the plague.
