Day 1 - Garden City, KS Motto: Where the aroma of cow shit permeates everything. Didn't get out of Ed til about 4 pm and drove til 10, to check into a nice inn whose pool and hot tub closed at 10pm. In Ed I couldn't stay awake. But with a check out time looming in the distance, I couldn't (of course) sleep.
Day 2 - Left Cow Poop town at 11a and arrived in Alamosa, CO at 4pm and am at the HOliday Inn. RM, of course, kicked butt on the uphill parts showing off and passing everyone. I did a long meditation in the very warm indoor pool which I had all to myself and floated around on my back with just my nose sticking out of the water. Cleaned all my chakras and then unified them. Forgot to spin in the water. Maybe later tonight, they are open til 10pm as well. Then I soaked a bit in the hot tub to loosen up my left shoulder which has been in excruciating pain now for about 3 months, seemingly getting worse, to the point that it's hard to sleep in a bed and whatever do I do w/o my sofa which it can lean against . . . and even that hurts.
I get out and feel great. Then I get in the elevator and slide in my own lil puddle of water and fall on my left knee and broke the fall with, you guessed it, my left arm. I immediately freaked out but then caught myself and noticed that although it hurt like hell it did NOT hurt as bad as it did this this morning just turning over in bed.
Now I'm off for some Mexican food and maybe a margarita. Gonna walk thru the old downtown area tomorrow, buy a smoothie, check out the shops and a natural food store I saw today and then head to Durango where I'd really like to spend the night. I think it's only a couple of hours away so I'll have lots of time to hang out downtown. At one point I saw a sign that said I was only 78 miles from Taos and believe me it was tempting to just turn left. But I really want to go thru Durango and then maybe to Taos via the sage fields so I can stock up.
Am functioning on half a nicotime patch which means I can have a cig if necessary, like when I realize I'm about to fall asleep driving. But I can also stay in a non-smoking hotel room. Big meditation planned for tonight. I'm at a good elevation and on the top floor. I should be high above the consescus chatter of the other 7 billion peeps and won't have to spend a lot of time quieting all the thoughts that seem intent on interferring with my quiet time. A little beans and guacamole for supper and I should be all set and satiated and grounded. With any luck I'll get to sleep at a decent hour *knocks on wood*.
