Often times on the meme, really interesting topics come up. They're not wanky or mean-spirited, but the prompt post is not the place for them. Until now, I've been directing them to the guidelines post, but from here on out, I'll direct them here. Steve was born in 1918, so he would be 26-27 if he went down in 1945.

Prop newspaper from Iron Man 1. "At 21, tragedy struck with the death of Howard Stark. Tony found himself the youngest CEO of a Fortune 500 company."

Screencap from Iron Man 1. "Washington D.C., Friday, December 17, 1991"
Tony was 21 in 1991. That means he turned 40 in Iron Man 2 (2010) and he will be 42 in 2012.

Actually, it says: "Then, the passing of a titan. Howard Stark's lifelong friend and ally, Obadiah Stane, steps in to help fill the gap left by the legendary founder, until, at age twenty-one, the prodigal son returns and is anointed the new CEO of Stark Industries."

It doesn't say, conclusively, that Tony was or wasn't twenty-one when his parents died, only that he took over when he was twenty-one. Stane likely stepped to make things transition easier and give Tony time to grieve. Tony really can't be any younger than that or the scene with him screwing up a take of Howard's 1974 Expo film wouldn't work because he wouldn't exist.

FWIW, there's also Tony's comment in Iron Man 2, when he says something along the lines of "Dead for twenty years, and still taking me to school," about Howard.

Does anyone know of Cap-specific comms? I can find a lot of Marvel-centric ones, but that's about it.

Has there been any official word about what's up with Cap's shield in Tony Stark's lab? Other than in the Iron Man 2 where Agent Coulson asks Tony if he knows what he has - which implies it must be something and not just a random replica. But in the Captain America movie, the shield goes down with Steve and the ship.

You know, I was wondering about that too. I was thinking that it might be one of Howard's prototypes for the shield he eventually comes up with and gives to Cap.

Has anyone played Captain America: Super Soldier? It supposedly takes place during the movie (that whole cutscene bit where the Commandos go on missions and blow things up) and has some of the actors do the voices.

I don't have a console so I can't play, but I can watch fantastic videos on youtube with cutscenes from it. (And thank you, SEGA, for continuing to slash Steve and Bucky silly for me.)

EDIT: also this, which has cut scenes and gameplay mixed together.

God dammit I am way too obsessed.
