Further details on the move
As promised, here are further details that you will Need To Know regarding our upcoming move over to Dreamwidth. This is the information we're looking at now, but should anything change we will post an update about that, as well.
We have already started transitioning the game from here to Dreamwidth; but as olesia mentioned in her last discussion, we've been finding difficulty setting a hard date to move until we can know when comment importing will be a reality. However, in the interest of not keeping players waiting, we are at the moment looking at a move in the first week of February, aiming for the first of the month. We're doing everything in our power to, at least, ensure that everything else is completed by that time. We apologize for the sake of those players unable to access livejournal at this time that we cannot move sooner. Given the amount of work that is entailed to reorganize all the mod and directory posts, revise world info to account for the change of venue, organize the Moving Plot, and revising the app system, any sooner than February 1st will just be unfeasible for us. We will not be splitting the game so that play on Dreamwidth can begin before the move is completed, as we feel dividing the game will be counterproductive, complicated, and will stifle successful gameplay.
Players who need to make activity this month by making three posts will be granted the one-time opportunity to postpone those posts until after our move; olesia has already sent out emails to all the players slated for three posts, as well as to those who did not respond to the Activity Check at all, to determine their status. If you received one of these messages, please be sure to respond to it if you have not already. Further one-time Activity Check accommodations may be made for this month only if players approach us mods personally with their specific troubles.
Applications will be closed the rest of this month, and slightly into February as we settle into the new community; they will reopen on the 6th and be open for two weeks to make up for all the time spent closed for the holidays and the move. Our app system, once at Dreamwidth, will be email based. If you are a current player planning to app once applications re-open, please look at the new application as there will be slight changes made to it. As mentioned in previous discussion posts, we will have a member-locked screened post in the OOC community for players to donate any invite codes they are willing to spare to the game and thus, future applicants. Further, we will be requesting codes from the Dreamwidth mods themselves.
Lastly, make sure you comment with your contact information and your Dreamwidth accounts to this taken page so that we can keep track of all our players for the move and for the contact/taken pages. Obviously, this applies to current players only. If you do not currently have a character in game but intend to reapply, you will still need to send in an application. olesia will contact anyone who hasn't responded to the post by the 18th of January by email.
