a relatively small plot!!
Hi everybody, it's Mono bringing you a little dose of hideousness in the form of a mod-approved plot.
Basically, when Stein was hired at NOHoPE a year ago, he asked for and received grant money to do neurological research. And he did do that research, by performing extremely unethical experiments on NPC patients who did not have family connections and/or the ability to complain about it.
Since that time he's published a scientific paper wherein he put a lot of ideas (the subject was altering the personalities of sociopathic individuals via physical altering of the brain) but didn't claim that he had already performed any experiments--it was mostly just an introduction of theory. He is currently preparing to wrap up what he considers his most important experiment to date: installing a bolt similar to the one he wears in his head in an especially unfortunate NPC patient.
Fortunately for...everyone, I guess, this latest post of Stein's and some people he's talked to in the hospital will spur Katurian Katurian to investigate Stein's actions.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday the 18th, Stein will arrange for the NPC patient of his choosing to be transported to a lab space that he's rented elsewhere in the City (that is, a lab that isn't in NOHoPE itself; he's not stupid enough to do an experiment that extreme at a place with that many witnesses) and will begin the surgery; Katurian will track him down and burst in to stop him at some point during the surgery, he and Stein will argue, and because of Stein's resulting inattention to his work the NPC will die on the operating table.
Katurian will be reporting Stein to the police (anonymously, I believe) and may also (anonymously) make a post to the network revealing Stein's various nefarious actions.
I assume Stein will end up being arrested for abuse of the patients under his care and murder of the NPC, at the very least--police types, maybe you can help me out with this one.
If you have any questions or comments you can put them here. Also, if your character has ever been a patient at NOHoPE and a. Stein did experiments on them that we've already discussed (this is Katurian for sure and he also did some stuff to Ladd while he was in NOHoPE, I think) or b. you'd like to say that your character found some suspicious stitches on their person while staying at NOHoPE, you can let me know that here too.
