[There were cameras in the infirmary, and monitoring equipment for critical situations, not that Dick had had to be hooked up to any of that. Tim hadn't wanted to make it feel like he was hovering unnecessarily by staying in the infirmary with Dick like an over-worried relative at an actual hospital, but that didn't stop him from keeping an eye on things to make sure that Dick didn't suddenly worsen or have delayed reaction to something that hadn't shown up in his blood work. It wouldn't have been the first time something like that had happened

[Dick is a bit surprised that Tim isn't hovering over him any more than he already is. He's got to be busy just like always, so if he had been here... Dick would have probably ended up feeling guilty because Tim has better things to do.

More important things to do that would help people. That thing Dick can't exactly do right now.

Dick doesn't look like he's doing fine. At the moment, his pride is more hurt than anything else, at least. He'll be fine. He sighs and looks up at Tim, shrugging.]

Okay. Could be worse.

[The only one expecting Dick to do anything beyond lie in bed and get better is Dick himself, but Tim can just about tell that that's what is going through Dick's mind right now - it's the same kind of guilt and need over being a burden, over not being able to help people, that he'd be feeling in the same circumstances.

They all would, really.

He comes over to sit next to Dick, offering over the DS.]

Could be better, too, huh? I figured you might be getting bored.

I'm stuck in bed, [he mumbles.] It could always be better.

[He's sounding a bit tired -- just like anyone who is recovering from anything. It's not real sleepiness, it's just his body shutting down a little to help him get better.

He certainly doesn't feel like sleeping.

He smiles a little, although it looks slightly forced.] Thanks. What games? [He pauses.] I'd half be expecting Pokémon but -- the games don't exist anymore, uh.

Hey.

[ Gar's come in a little unceremoniously, going for cheerfulness and, likely as not, missing it fantastically. ]

Heard you were around. How's it going?

[ He's got two Coke-a-Cola's, and offers one to Dick with a small smile. ]

[Dick takes the coke from Gar's hand and sits up, more slowly than he would usually just in case he gets dizzy again.]

I'm okay.

[He doesn't elaborate more than that and shrugs, as if whatever put him in the infirmary was no big deal.]

You? Everything's fine? [He sincerely wants to know -- he hasn't talked to Gar in a while, just like he hasn't talked to most Titans, and he doesn't want to miss too much. And since he's stuck in the Tower for a bit, he can at least make sure he asks people how they are.]

I'm okay. [Gar's answer is the same, short and sweet, but he did smile a bit to indicate that he was joking, poking fun at Dick's own answer. ]

[ He pulled up a chair and sat down, cracking open his own soda. ] I got 'ported out for a couple of days. Spent a year back home.

[He did? Dick looks at him a bit more closely, squinting, and -- he looks a bit different but it could have been a haircut or something.]

You still just look old, [Dick says, obviously joking.] Except you're even older now. Heh.

[He rubs the back of his neck.] How disastrous was that year? [A pause.] Did you remember the City while you were there?

[As much as Wally would like to just zip in, startling Dick might not be the brightest idea at the moment. So despite how much he's been fussing, he walks in. Somehow that feels even slower than it actually is more than usual.]

Oh, you're awake now!

[And then he is hovering by Dick's bed in the blink of an eye, peering at him anxiously.]

Are you okay? How are you feeling?

[Dick is honestly surprised that Wally hadn't been the first one all over him. But maybe it took a bit of time for him to learn that Dick was here.

He's sitting up and playing on the DS when Wally walks in -- and yes, he walked in, although that lasted a second -- and he puts the thing away in order to give Wally as much attention as he needs so he won't fret too much.]

I'm feeling better. [He smiles, more to reassure Wally than anything.] Really bored. And the fake Pokémon game isn't all that distracting.

[In truth, Wally has checked up on him a few times before when Dick wasn't really conscious so seeing him awake is already a big relief to him.]

Really? That's-- great. [He returns the smile with a relieved one of his own before adding, halfheartedly,] Don't scare us like that.

[He moves to sit on the edge of the bed, more cheerful already.] Well then, it's a good thing Doctor West is here to cure you of this fatal disease called 'boredom'.

[Don't tell Dick, he's going to feel uncomfortable and annoyed, and just won't know how to react at all.

He'd probably argue that he was just sleeping and that Wally could have woken him up, whether that's true or not. Just hearing Wally saying things like 'don't scare us' makes Dick frown a bit. As if he could stop scaring people.

It's not that he doesn't get it, he does. He's also really glad that Wally doesn't get hurt nearly as often as Dick does.]

Heh, I try. I don't see you trying to not get scared, too. [He shifts on the side so Wally has enough space to settle.] So d'you have anything planned to cure the boredom at all?

[nightstarrising]

[Well. Here was someone she wasn't expecting.]

...Hey.

[Oh. His... alternate-daughter. And she doesn't look like she was expecting him to be there. He can go along with that. He was expecting some people to just stumble in, eventually.]

Hey? [And because it seems like something to say right away:] Tim's the one who wants me to stay in bed for at least another day.
