Several hours ago, Maggie had come back to the library, considering Scott's very exciting job offer, and inevitably she had found a book that captured her fancy, she crawled into the most comfortable space she could find, and began reading...

That faint sound of deep breathing, the occasional light snore? That's Maggie, who has somehow managed to fit her six foot form underneath one of the library tables, curled up, face planted into a book on mutant genetics.

Rachel had decided to move to another seat, perhaps to make it harder to stumble across her, perhaps just to change the view, but as she sat down again, she heard the soft sounds of... snoring?

Curious, she opened her mind to locate the person that was hidden nearby and once found she crossed the room to check on them. Underneath the table was someone who was either too tired to stay up reading anymore, or who found dry texts on genetics as boring as she did. Either way, she reached under the table to gently shake the woman awake - sleeping under a table was probably not the best way to spend a night.

Maggie shifted slightly. "I'll get your coffee, Nenene," she muttered, eyes slowly fluttering open. She focused on Rachel. "Oh."

She had figured out Rachel was not her former housemate, but her mind hadn't quite kicked completely into gear. "Do you need coffee?"

"Um, no. I'm good."

Obviously, someone wasn't quite awake yet.

"I'm Rachel, do you know where you are?"

She rubbed her eyes and looked at the book she had been reading. The familiarity of the book, the way it resonated in her hands, instantly helped her to refocus on what she'd been up to before she'd fallen asleep.

"Oh. The library." Her cheeks reddened at the thought of being caught here so late. "I'm sorry."

"That's okay, just didn't want you to get woken up by a student in the morning or anything."

That was assuming she wasn't a student. You couldn't always tell in a place like this. She offered a hand to help the sleepy woman up.

"Do you have a room here, or need a ride home or anything?"

Maggie took the offered hand and unfolded herself carefully from underneath the table.

"I live at the M.A.C. Mr. Summers offered me a job here." She rubbed her eyes and checked her watch, noticing how late it was. "Are you a student here?" She wondered if she should be returning the offer of getting the girl home.

"Nope, staff. I have a room upstairs in the staff section."

Rachel helped the girl get upright and steady.

"Are you... nightwatch or something?" She blushed again, hoping she hadn't been assumed an intruder.

She remembered that the young woman had introduced herself, and realized she ought to do the same. "I'm Maggie."

"Nope, powered combat." She smiled. "I know, I look harmless."

She offered a hand to shake, "Nice to meet you Maggie. What job did Scott offer you?"

"I wouldn't make that assumption. Most people I know look harmless and aren't." She thought of her fluffy pink-headed 4'7" little sister taking down a squadron of six enemy soldiers with spin kicks while slicing the nozzles of their guns.

Maggie took Rachel's hand and shook it briefly. "Librarian." She looked around the books longingly. "I don't have a Library Science degree though..."

"And I don't think they make degrees for power-based combat."

She shrugged, "Sometimes love and life experience trump schooling."

Maggie smiled slightly. "That's probably true. For some things, at least." She scratched her head. "I didn't mean to disturb you. You must have been in here for something other than me..."

"Just reading... couldn't sleep. Have you been in the City long? "

"Just a week or two," she replied. It seemed like she'd been here forever already.

She pointed toward the fiction section of the library. "The whaling chapters in Moby Dick are nicely soporific." She smiled sympathetically; insomnia was frustrating. "Or if you need something more comforting..." She reached into her jacket, producing a copy of The Little Prince. "Here. This is a nice one. It's not boring, but makes it easy to sleep afterward, I think..."

Rachel took the slim book and turned it over. "I remember this, I read it when I was a kid. Loved it."
