[Have a Roxanne, City; she's not nearly so chipper -- the morning makeup isn't entirely hiding the marks sleepless nights have left, and she's a little pale beneath her concealer. She's not smiling, either. Her expression might best be called 'neutral', the type that people take on when they really don't want to let whatever it is they're feeling

[Andromeda flicks on the comm -- it's obvious that she's at work -- and purses her lips for a moment before she speaks.]

So, aside from the obligatory getting smashed that we are going to be doing soon enough -- I have both a strong-backed cousin, and the ability to send you to a beautiful tropical paradise so you can miss whatever unspeakable horrors are going to be going on here this weekend.

Normally I'd argue. There's a lot to cover here. End of the world, big news. I can't just run. If they do take everything down, someone needs to be here to get the facts straight, get them to the population.

[She alters her comm for a moment, and then finds the cleanest rag she can in Megamind's place -- that takes a second, okay? It's not exactly in the best condition -- and then gets it wet in the sink and wipes away her makeup.]

[She learned from the best to cover up stressful kidnapping, superhero antics, and long nights with no sleep. Her face is swallow, her eyes puffy and bruised looking, and her expression grim.]

If what I'm -- picking up -- [Not wanting to specify to the attorney she helped hire her empathic abilities] is a fragment of what's coming....

Yes, I think it will be that bad. The City is a powerkeg. Even if it's half that bad, the fear and anxiety alone will lead to a panic that'll cost lives.

That makes it sound like he dumped me and left me with his crap. But-- yes, looks like he's been Ported out. All his things are here. Even his watch, and I don't think I've ever seen him without that on.

[She nods once.]

Right. Good thing, because... man I don't know how someone so skinny hauled all this stuff up here. Must've been the bots.

If he's not back after an average of three days, the next major point is --two weeks, but that's--

If he's not back in three days, he's probably not coming back in a predictable time frame. [tiny, if bitter, smile] Finally got me there. No way to predict that...

Roxanne? Are you alright?

[...that's a new look for you, there, Donna. Briefly distracted Roxanne blinks and then-- just nods. ]

[She's no real stranger to heart ache -- hell, it was just a month ago, by her perception, that she'd dumped him.... and shortly thereafter, took him back.]
