Alright guys, it looks like it’s time for our big wacky summer adventure where anything can happen because it is only going to be talked about in passing later and thus we are not limited by budgets, time limits, or resolved character arcs.
So it looks like we’re in New York and I don’t remember how we got here. Off the top of my head I can think of a few possibilities for this scenario:
-We all partied a little too hard last night and have woken up in a strange city we don’t know our way around in which we must now retrace our steps and discover more about our actions and ourselves in order to solve the problems we created. New York might seem like a strange choice for such an adventure but it fits with our quirky comedic style of not always going for the obvious even though it initially looks like we will. Check yourself for tattoos and missing body parts. I do not have any tattoos or missing body parts.
-We have all traveled through a time portal and woken up in a near-apocalyptic future in which the city of New York is a giant prison used to house all of society’s riff-raff where they roam free without law or morality. We must retrieve a certain person in order to be set free. Which one of us do you think is most likely to be president in the near-apocalyptic future?
-An alien invasion is happening and the aftershocks wiped our recent memories. We must now find ways to escape as we all coincidentally avoid disaster despite the tons of casualties around us until at last a few of us are captured and it looks really bad until a deus ex machina comes along and we all end up safe and happy just like we always are. Does anyone have a cold, and can you cough on the aliens?
-The world is about to end and we are in a big city because there are more buildings that can explode and collapse thus making things significantly more exciting. However, I don’t think that’s scheduled to happen until next winter. The day after tomorrow at the very earliest. There’s time to prepare for this one.
Those are my likely suggestions but I am always open to discovering new information leading to potential plot twists and emotional revelations. Jeff, if you have a ‘Winger’ for this situation, now would be a good time to put it out there.
