It's difficult...the picture is so small. I expect I wouldn't be able to get to the body in person to verify, all I can do is guess from this distance.

It's certainly a sword, not a knife, from the depth of the cuts. Yet, I hesitate to say what kind specifically. It doesn't look like a straight blade like mine...oddly, it puts me in mind of the kind of cut a Karayan sword makes. [beat; right, Jack doesn't know who the Karayans are] ...a curved blade.

I think the demon Illidan had a large, curved blade last time I fought him. Unless that was all the fire distorting my vision. [dryly]

But if the attack did not happen here in the City, then it could be almost anyone. The picture is strangely lit so I can't tell you whether the attacker wielded their blade with expertise or not. Even a sword swung wide by a greenhorn can do fatal damage.

Forensics will be able to tell us more once they get there, as long as no one disturbs the body. A staged scene like this ought to have a lot of evidence. He was probably attacked somewhere else, then posed and left to die.
