[The camera clicks on. It's pitch black for the first couple of seconds, as the light takes a moment to adjust, revealing the profile of a man lying on the floor in a perfectly adequate position, hands at his side, palms facing down, eyes closed and peaceful. What an oddly strict way to rest. Especially under such bright lights directly pointed at him, creating shadows that contrast against the brightness of the blood.
And there is a lot of blood.
Nothing about this is accidental. Nothing is unintentional. The camera was placed in the perfect angle, the light was carefully set up and the blood pools under him almost dramatically. No inch of his body has been spared of mutilating cuts, all caused by a scimitar only twenty minutes ago. It's probably still somewhere in there, if you look closely enough. Maybe it's gone, taken by whoever constructed this grotesque feed.
It would have been completely silent, save for the sound of the communicator running, if only the man hadn't suddenly gasped and choked on his own blood, quickly running out of what little energy he had left.
