I don't know what happened to this city, but I think it's better I wasn't here for whatever it was. Caused enough damage - if I didn't know better, I'd say Geth.

[There's just...a sigh.]

2010, really...when I said "two centuries" I wasn't really aiming to be right. At least this Earth isn't as much of a landfill as it is in my time. Well, or so I've heard.

..."Sort of".

Hopefully, we will. Humans have more of a chance keeping this planet livable than the Drell did.

Sounds interesting. You'll have to tell me the story sometime -- if it isn't too traumatic, of course. God knows I have some stories I'd rather not tell.

[Pause.]

I never introduced myself - must've slipped my mind. Garrus Vakarian.

This is Earth, and this is March...2010.

I'm...from a little after that. A hundred and seventy three years, if you want to get complicated.

Could be worse. I could have ended up in the eighteenth century, and from what I've read, humans weren't all too receptive to things they didn't understand.

And I thought being from nine years ago was complicated...

No, people generally weren't. So by saying 'humans', does this mean you're not human yourself?

[And he just flicks on the video, leaning back casually. No, yeah, he's still got the blue armor on and the sniper rifle strapped to his back.]

...Not quite.

[Here's a friendly face for Garrus, from his most favorite race in the universe. He seems to be... sitting on a couch, in an apartment.]

Shepard's not here, turian.

[Well, he's a little bit happier to see something recognizable. Kinda dampened by who it is, but well.]

It figures. I end up in a strange and possibly dangerous place with no backup and Shepard isn't even the one leading me here.

[AWKWARD PAUSE what does he even say other than 'oh hey look it's a krogan'. The fact that he seems hated for no reason at all doesn't help, but chalk that up to krogan-ness.]

Wasn't expecting a krogan.

[Garrus just gets a glare, as if Grunt is mentally peeling away his head-feather-things. And he probably is.]

Was hoping not to see you again after we shoved the Collectors' base up Cerberus's ass and blew it up. Heh heh.

[Grunt gets a steady stare back, like Garrus is trying to ignore the feeling that Grunt is mentally doing something horrific to him.]

...I don't recall starting a fight with Collectors. Or meeting you. I'm pretty sure I would remember meeting you. Not to mention getting involved with Cerberus, and...when did all of this happen?

[A blue-haired human is peering at you, Garrus, though his expression is pleasant.]

Ah, someone else who comes from a dimension where there is quite a bit of space travel, good. Hello and welcome to the City for what that's worth. It's Earth, the year is 2010, and you've been brought here by a machine known as the 'Porter to replace the police force that suddenly disappeared over a year ago. You don't have to join the police, of course, as there really isn't any enforcing of that directive and the 'Porter does sometimes bring in less than savory types which are usually more of a problem than the natives.

[He listens attentively, shifting his sniper rifle off his back and next to the MAC couch he's sitting on.]

Thank you for the welcome. Now...what can you tell me about these "less than savory types"? You've got me curious.

[He's also speaking extremely quickly.]

I'm not involved with the police force actually and they could explain about some of that better than I could but the 'Porter does bring in some who are called "supervillains" in their own worlds.

And be glad that you just missed a zombie invasion that was orchestrated by two people known as the Lich King and Kel'thuzad according to my research.

[Which is why he's having to listen closely. It's sort of like listening to a salarian, though, so it's not too difficult for him.]

I'll have to get in contact with the police, then. I'd rather know the details on who it is I'm supposed to be keeping an eye out for than find it all out myself.

[Pause, while mentally marking down Lich King and Kel'thuzad as people to find out more about.]

Zombies.

There's plenty of people here who aren't human. Although I will admit they're in the minority. But to be fair, this is Earth, so... humans are bound to thrive here.

Can't blame humans for propagating their own home planet.

I'm getting a little tired of being called "mutant", though; my genes are perfect for a turian male.
