1. I rushed the end of ‘The Rest of Your Life,’ and it shows.
Heh, were your ears burning? Since she put up the soundtrack, offspeed and I have been kinda talking about it. (I was trying to figure out why I was so emotional about the end.) I think I'd welcome a sequel that settled things with more of a sense of finality, but I'll leave the badgering for that to Alex :-P
4. The How-To series bugs me. Pretty much everything I wrote early on (with a few exceptions) bugs me.
I think that's understandable, because from reading your stuff, you've improved muchly since those writings. Like, I know it bugs me whenever I see someone on my flist using one of the my early icons. All I can see is everything I did wrong with it. The cropping could have been better, the text isn't properly placed, the brush use should have been more subtle... I have to admit, the How-To series is one of I think two stories of yours that I read but didn't comment on (at least I don't think I did), because while I was intrigued by the premise, I wasn't crazy

HEY, at least I didn't blame you for making me think the story was called Undercurrents :-P **coughs** (though really, I can't blame you for that, because I've got eyes, haven't I? I should probably be able to, you know, READ, at this point).
i have my moments of "OMG i can't shut the hell up about this story!" and then the moments of ". . . durr. me likey. MORE!" i guess as long as the author knows i liked it?
Oh, Mulder as a Cardinal...I still can't quite handle that. Time heals all wounds, they tell me, but I can't believe that Huddy and Mulder will ever look quite right in those new colors.
i am skipping part of my class to fill this out, so feel special!littlestcloudsOctober 21 2005, 16:14:12 UTC

truth be told, that isn't something i picked up on. i thought it ended just fine, but then again, i am a whore for angst.
2. The first thing that comes to mind when I’m trying to describe something is the location and quality of the light.
really? hmm. when i'm trying to describe something/someone, the first thing that comes to me is the person's/persons' hands.
4. The How-To series bugs me. Pretty much everything I wrote early on (with a few exceptions) bugs me.
i liked that one. it was the first you!fic i ever read, so it holds a special place in my heart, even if i do agree that you've improved upon your craft.
5. I used to write Mulder/Scully het when I was thirteen. Ha!
shoot me for immediately thinking mark mulder/vin scully.
8. The stories I like best are very rarely the ones that are best-received.
same here.
12. I have been trying to write a genuinely happy ending for months now.
how's that going?
13. The name of the story is ‘Undercurrent.’ Singular. I

the happy ending is still elusive. i think maybe it will involve street? because i find it difficult to cause pain to something so pretty.
yo, if i can ask, do you think 'undercurrents' is a more appropriate title? because i can see how maybe there was more than one thing underlying in that story. it's only called what it is because it got started by a couple of people telling me there was an undercurrent of violence in what i wrote. and that is, in fact, what the title refers to. it's not unrequited love at all! psych!

i've written one happy ending in my entire writing career. i find depressing or angsty endings more fulfilling :p <----satan

i dunno, i keep referring to it as undercurrents (apparently, didn't even know i was doing that) but it may be a meijer/meijers thing. it just seemed like there was a lot of stuff going on under the surface, so it made sense in my brain to tack on the extra s? although i don't think i thought it was about unrequited love at all. i was thinking more along the lines of the strain of violence and

though that would probably not be a happy ending story either.

dude, if it was both mulder as a cardinal and a happy ending, i think perhaps my head would explode.

I fear my boy is incapable of happy endings at this point, unless he can find one in a stripper's vagina. good luck with that, I say.

(Btw, it was really fun to watch Byrnes play at OPCY :-P Too bad his hitting fell off like it did; his energy and enthusiasm were so endearing.)
