Let's call this entry 'recent bits from my life'. With pictures for your viewing pleasure!
First, the other day Brad and I got a card in the mail from his parents for our anniversary. This is what's on the front of the card:
I seriously cracked the hell up when I saw that. No no, let's not put daughter-in-law, CLEARLY "daughter" is the way to go here. I showed it to the girls at knit night and they all got a chuckle out of it too. I would love to know where my in-laws found this card. "Daughter". *snrk*
Next, there's this wonderful signage I saw at Target the other day:
Yes, that would be the frozen food aisle with a sign that says Culture. I almost kept walking, but I had to stop and take a picture, because really, it was too good not to.
Then, there's this amusing drawing from the pub I went to last night for Lynn's bachelorette party:
Funny story about Lynn's bachelorette party. I gave Gabe a ride home from knit night on Thursday, and in the car she was telling me about how Lynn accidentally scheduled her to work the night of her bachelorette but then fixed the schedule so she could actually go. Me: "Oh, so when's Lynn's bachelorette?" Gabe: "The 27th." Me: "So . . . tomorrow." It turns out that Lynn's maid of honor, who organized the party, did the whole thing via facebook invite, and since I'm no longer on facebook, I obviously didn't get the memo. Gabe was sure that Lynn had meant to invite me and joked that she was sure Lynn would be sad if her other spouse wasn't at the party (she's my other husband, remember?). Lynn then texted me Friday morning, saying "Did I remember to tell you that my bachelorette party is tonight and you're invited? Because it is and you are." :p Thankfully, I did not have any plans last night, so I was able to go, and it was a good time. It was at
Pauper's Pub, and we just hung out chatting, eating appetizers and enjoying each other's company. A bunch of girls from the knitting group were there as well as a bunch of Lynn's friends from school and whatnot, so it was a decent amount of people. I didn't get anything to drink, though they did have cider on draft, which will be good to remember.
I'm glad I went despite being in an awful mood for most of yesterday prior to the evening. I started the day super irritated and irritable, then just felt down and grumpy for the rest of the time I was at work. I didn't want to be around people or talk to anyone, which is definitely not the norm for me. I spent some time immersed in A Clash of Kings after I got home, and that helped improve my mood. The shitty mood is what I've come to identify as the precursor to my periods, so as much as I hate feeling that way, it is helpful to know that it generally just means I'll be getting my period shortly. Usually once I figure that out, the mood dissipates somewhat, and it hasn't lasted more than a day or so any time it's happened, which I guess is not the worst thing ever as far as possible PMS symptoms go.
My cardigan is coming along nicely, and I'm really pleased with it so far. I should maybe take some more progress pictures to post at some point. Today after we went grocery shopping (Saturday grocery shopping is the WORST, by the way), I put on a movie and just sat and knit for a couple hours, and it was lovely. Tomorrow, I need to do laundry, and I'm going to make meatballs in the crockpot, but otherwise, I hope to do more knitting and reading and not a whole lot else. Oh, and the season premiere of Once Upon a Time is tomorrow night!! I really hope that this season is good and they cut out the stupid crap they started doing last season. The premiere is set to record, so I'll probably just watch it Monday or Tuesday so I don't have to deal with commercials. Can't wait to see what happens! (The icon I'm using is of Emma and my favorite sexy pirate; definitely looking forward to seeing more of him.) Monday we've got an appointment with a doctor that's much closer to us to see if we want to switch family doctors. Tuesday I've got my work knitting group, and then Wednesday is our anniversary! Yay! :D
All right, gonna go try to catch up on my old reader feeds. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, friends!
