What?! It's only been a week since my last entry?! I know, the world might end. Hold on to your hats, people. :p

One week from Wednesday (otherwise known as October 2nd) is Brad's and my 3-year anniversary! 3 years already! It's crazypants; I totally don't feel like it's been 3 years already. On the other hand, a LOT has happened in those three years, so it also feels like forever. It sort of has been forever, when you think about it - we met and started talking at the very very end of 2006, and started dating early 2007, so in a few months it will be 7 years that we've been together! Anyway, this year we actually get to celebrate our anniversary for once, which is pretty exciting! Every other year since we've been married we had zero income over the summer, which meant that by the time our anniversary rolled around, we were still struggling to catch up and never had any money leftover to do something nice. But since I got paid this summer, we're in a much better position this time, and we can actually afford to go out to eat for dinner! What a shocking concept, haha.

Last entry's money stress was temporarily resolved by a very fortuitously timed focus group that paid $110. Sweet! Starting in October, my car insurance rates go down with my renewal, which will mean a little extra money, AND we've hit the point in the year at which I've reached the maximum that they can take out of my paycheck for EI and CPP and stuff, so my paychecks are starting to be a bit higher, too. Definitely helpful stuff.

I'm back to working on my pretty pretty cardigan, because Kim picked up the fourth skein of yarn for me from the Purple Purl and it's the same color as the ones I already had, so I was free to carry on without having to worry about alternating skeins. I'm very excited to be working on it again. I'm on to the second Game of Thrones book, A Clash of Kings, and holy crap did that first one end with a bang. Really enjoying the series so far, and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Otherwise, really, not a whole lot going on. I'm feeling generally good about life - it's fall, my favorite season, so there's lots of good things to look forward to. Busting out the boots and sweaters, apple cider, pumpkin everything, crisp air, Thanksgiving, carving a pumpkin and handing out candy for Halloween, hopefully going to see Rocky Horror with a bunch of friends this year, our second annual cottage retreat . . . lots of good stuff!

And now I have to figure out how to kill the next hour and a half before I can leave work. :p Hope you're all doing well!

anniversary, books, knitting, money money money, fall
