Good News, Good Weekend

May 11, 2008 23:30

Friday evening was the FRG meeting. When I got there I set to work on barracks stuff for the single soldiers until I was called into the meeting room. Once we were all assembled we were given a run down of dates for the next few months including the specific day and time for their return! It was good news too, they are coming home a day earlier than expected. Of course there can always be a change, but as it stands now I will have my hubby home with me this weekend. I am also a member of the 1% Club for the Donut of Misery!

You just get the donut, no real information. I actually started to get really excited once we had a day and time. Up until then I kept waiting for the inevitable bad news.
Saturday I left for my in-laws' in the morning. It was an uneventful drive and I listened to Harry Potter the whole way (there and back). That evening we headed to Cheesecake factory for Mother's Day dinner. I wasn't crazy about my food but the cheesecake I got to go was super yummy.
Before leaving I popped into Brighton where I was finally able to find my bangle. It is non-existent here in central Texass but the Stronebriar Brighton had about a half a dozen of them and the lady was pretty disbelieving when I told her it is impossible to find here. So yay!
Back at the house my mother in law opened her gifts and liked the ID tag holder Chris and I bought her. I then opened my birthday gifts from Chris' sisters. From Stephanie I got a book and a picture frame, from Ashley I got a book and a funky little sticky note pad. Happy happy!
I was super tired last night and went to bed before the rest of the family although it was quite late - midnight. Chris called as I was drifting off to sleep. This morning I got up and called my mom and wished her a happy Mom's Day. Then I puttered around with the family. We all had breakfast at the house and spent time with everyone until about 4 when I headed home. I made it here in good time and the girls have been completely out since. I'm tired after so much driving so I'm on my way to bed. I just popped on here to do my Sunday Donut check and was excited to see the 1%. Yay again!
