You know, I was JUST TALKING about how Seki Tomokazu was like, the KING OF ANIME SCREAMERS when I found out he was Domon Kasshu in G Gundam.

GUNDAM FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT! READYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY GOOOOOOOOO!

Anyway. Voting as krazysam. This is a gratuitous icon comment.

Kamui [OUT]: noooooooooooo I'm sorry to say it, but I didn't even make it through the app. I admit my only knowledge of Kamui comes from the movie and that as a result, all I know is that he screams a lot, and therefore I can't talk about the voice. But I will say that as a reader, I was being led from point A to point B to point C to point Q faster than people dying in the movie. I'd say tighten your focus on one or two camp things and just stick to those.

Jirobou [OUT]: I can tell that you're apping someone who probably won't be too horribly much in the crack department, so I'm not going to go "NO HUMOR GO DIE D<", but the app was still a little lacking, and the punchline was a little too random for my tastes. I'd say instead of trying to make us laugh with an off-the-wall punchline, try to flesh out his voice a little better! If he's not a piss-your-pants funny character, then try to win us over on voice rather than funny.

Link [OUT: Holy jeez, talk about a near-impossible character to app (with the exception of "EXCUUUUUUUUUSE ME, PRINCESS"). Does Link even really have much characterization or even dialogue? This didn't really seem too much like a "LINK" voice to me, but maybe because I keep expecting a little more heroic and a little less spazzy.

Yuffie [OUT]: As an emetophobic with a penchant for vomit-takes (YEAH TRY TO FIGURE THAT ONE OUT EVERYONE), I'm not sure if I should be saying "GO GO MOTION SICKNESS" or "oh god DDDD:". In either case, I thought it was kind of excessive and I think you can play on her motion sickness in ways that don't involve major gross-outs. And... thus, I didn't make it through the app.

This app was basically ... er. It was a lot of reaction, rambling and canon terms. I couldn't get a very strong sense of the character's voice from it, and if you reapp I suggest, if not finding a new and original twist, at least injecting more humor into the app?

Almost all of the app is reacting to things as they're happening, rather than a speech or a narrative of what's happened, which I think is a very difficult way to app someone because it's difficult to be clear about what's happening and it jumps around with each new thing, rather than flowing as well as apps that are at least partially narrative. The choppiness of all the "--what?!" reactions makes the app really difficult to read, which leaves it feeling like a lot of froth without enough solid joke-y foundations.

My recommendation would be to start by rewriting the app to a narrative format or something like Kotarou's app, which is mostly the character doing stuff in an orderly fashion, punctuated only occasionally by reacting to things around the character in order to set the app off to a new round of jokes. IMHO, that sort of style gives apps more structure, makes them smoother and easier to follow, and strengthens them generally -- which I know sounds like a shampoo commerical, but that's what I think the easiest way to app is.

Okay, let's see. The strongest part was the bit on the moogle, but aside from that the biggest problem was that, well, nothing stood out. Which is awful as far as constructive criticism goes, but that's the thing. The writing itself is fine enough, but there's a lack of really strong jokes or subject matter (aside from the aforementioned moogle bit), and, well, if I read an app and afterwards I can barely remember anything about it that quickly, it's probably going to end up an out.

The best advice I can really think of is coming up with a couple of really strong jokes and focusing on and building up to them; unfortunately, advice on content itself has never been my strong suit, so. Um. Yeah.

Yeah, I was kind of worried about the jokes. Ashe is so serious, I had a hard time thinking of ways to make her be funny.
