Rin's parents abused her, and then told her they never wanted to see her again while she was in the hospital. So yeah, they're a pretty huge trauma button for her. She has no siblings, but he does have a variety of cousins, most of whom are awesome, if somewhat angsty, and one of whom she's dating.

Kotarou's family does not appear in the manga, but it's indicated he hasn't seen his parents since he was little. His real family are the people who have taken him in-- i.e. Chizu-nee, Ayaka, and Natsumi.

Shunsui's the only character I have that has ANY canon mention of family, and all we know about his is they're nobility and he has at least an older brother. :| Oh, and that they sent him off to the shinigami academy against his will 'cause he was such a troublemaker.

Sakuraba is an only child! He gets kind of :/ over both his parents being out of the house a lot, but he keeps himself busy with sports and his team and all that good stuff, so he's good for the most part.

Akito has his bitches. I ... don't think much more needs to be said! Oh yeah, she wants her cousin but is pissed and possessive over another cousin and sleeps with that cousin because she can and bitches when her first cousin sleeps with his mom. FUCKERS.

Koutarou has a sister, I think? NOTHING OF SUBSTANCE HERE.

Edgeworth has daddy emo lol. Von Karma l-lol.

Dee's family consists of Jess and Penguin, and Ryo, Bikky, and Carol. Jess is dead, and he's not really an emo button, but Dee's close to Ryo and kinda close with the kids.

Hiroshi's family isn't very close? He's close-ish to his brother, I guess.

Musashi has a dad! And is not close with him.

Ikki's family are the sisters he lives with! ... he's basically they're slave, is topped by them, etc. He's closest with Ringo, though. And I'm sure he considers Kogarasumaru family, too.
