Anita will be as close as necessary...

Anyway, when Anita talks, I identify two (+1) talk modes for her. If Anita's just chatting, she tends to fidget - rock back and forth, cast her gaze around, etc. etc. The more mundane the conversation, the more she moves about. She's not a good conversationalist not a reflection of my own faults, I swear and unless there's a point to her chat/she knows the person well, she probably just wants out of the inevitable awkward silence.

If Anita's excited or angry about something, she'll get a little closer and louder, more direct and less fidgety. Maybe some flailing because her natural physical violence reaction has gone down lately.

The third mode is emo/sad/upset mode, which doesn't happen often because I try to keep Anita out of those situations. She assumes a lot of defensive positions - looking down, crossed arms, distance, etc.

Icons usually reflect what Anita's thinking first, physical expression second. Usually the two can be combined. Some, I hope, are obviously unconnected - I use "what a horrible person!" a lot, even though Anita doesn't say that out loud, for example.
