. . . You know. I actually started writing this one huge essay about differences in the Azumanga Daioh anime and manga. TWICE. XD; But I keep starting it and then deciding it's getting way too long and boring and stupid and who wants to READ all that?
Maybe someday! But every time I start it, I get to a certain point and realize that what I'm actually pointing out about Tomo is less essay material and more SERIOUS POLL material. Because it's something I always wonder whenever I'm threading with anyone. MAYBE I'M JUST WEIRD.
What is your character actually doing while they're threading with someone? I don't necessarily mean "What else are they doing while they're on their laptop?" although that applies too. I mean like--while they're standing there, talking to someone face-to-face, what are they doing? Do the icons literally reflect it?
Many of us don't bother using action tags for the really tiny things, like [looks at the ground], unless they're significant to the conversation. But that doesn't mean it's not going on. Is your character the type to pace while they talk? Multi-task? Undress the other party with their eyes? Avert their eyes? Touch the other person? Fall asleep, CAESAR? Stand at attention? Slouch around and relax?
