I need a Twilight icon... and stuff....

Saturday night I went to a Twilight "party" at the local Borders. I say "party" as it wasn't, really. I walked in the store and heard Paramore on the sound system and guessed I was in the right place, however, it was suspiciously un-party-like. Upon further wandering I found a handful of Twi-hards in the children's section. There were maybe a dozen of us total, most with their movie t-shirts on .The age range was from about 10 for the one little girl, up to, well, me, I guess. I'm 26 so it isn't like I'm ancient. A couple of them might have been about my age. I am not including the kids' parents in the age range. I think most were teens and college. Anyway, the nice Borders girls came over and told us the coordinator was sick, and would we like free posters and hot chocolate? Sure we would. They did the two drawings right away, and naturally I won nothing. The posters were to have been free with purchase $25 of Twilight stuff, but for us they were just plain free. I bought the soundtrack, Borders edition, which, it turns out, only has one of the two RPattz songs. *grumble* For a non-party, it wasn't a bad time. Several of us drooled over magazine covers and such.

About the soundtrack...
I generally like it. There are a couple tracks that aren't my favorites, but all in all, it's good. I was disappointed to get James as my poster. He's hot and all, but he's the *bad* guy. I can't justify being attracted to evil incarnate, especially when there are plenty of *nice* vampires to look at instead.
Rob's track. I like it, except for the fact that it drives me CRAZY. I can't understand a word the boy says. Now, you have to keep in mind that music is what I do for a living, specifically teaching singing and singing myself. I can't help but give the radio my best teacher look and rant "They're called CONSONANTS, Rob! USE THEM!" Fabulous guitar, dreamy voice, no clue what the words are.

Dancing with the Stars Semi-finals were on tonight, and I was flabbergasted to watch the Pro Jitterbug, because there were parts of it *I* can *do*! Backing up a bit for the Strictly crowd, they added three dances in the States this time, Salsa, Hustle, and Jitterbug. I missed the main show when they were premiered, but they're supposedly new for pros and judges as well as the stars. Salsa, I know for a fact, is not new in the slightest for Len and Bruno, and we've pro swing champion that surely knows jitterbug. If I know any of it, she must. I only swing dance for fun in learn-as-you-go settings. Goodness, I can't stay on topic. Sorry. Of the two salsas tonight, one was horrendous, and the poor girl wore fringe!pants, but the second was decent. The first jitterbug was a not!jitterbug. Practically ZERO content. The football guy (American, not soccer) is a good performer and a crap dancer. I could do better. That should say something. The second jitterbug was much better. It was the new swing champion pro and the NSync guy, and they actually looked like they were dancing in the correct style as opposed to jiving about dressed as a casino dealer and a roulette wheel. Yes, that's right, roulette wheel skirt. What was Kym thinking?!? Anyway, Lance and Lacey looked great. Tomorrow's results show looks fantastic, with ballroom kids finals, Aretha Franklin, and Julieanne Hough singing instead of dancing. Plus, Mark and Kristi are dancing!

Was I incoherent enough for you? I've no idea what I've just subjected you too, but I'm sure I'll read it in the morning and groan. Sorry about that.

Tuesday Wednesday Thursday midnight!Twilight!

dancing, twilight
