Why hello there!

Thank you for participating in Yuletide this year! I really enjoy this exchange and am looking forward to your creation. I hope you have fun!

You can read previous letters here!

-I like happy stories! There can be angst but please happy endings!

-I love romance stories especially the smoldering ones that take like 300 pages for stuff to happen (also think this scene from grey's anatomy). BUT I also like friendship/gen stories.

-I don't like pregnancy fic. Please no fic about people being pregnant, finding out they are pregnant, having a baby (the birthing process or otherwise), wanting to have a baby or babies generally being in the fic. Even if it's canon.

-Sexy times and porn in the fic is ok but please have more going on then just boning!

-Prequels, sequels, "5 times x though this about y and 1 time they didn't" fics, the same scene from different perspectives, AUs, really pretty much anything is fine by me.

-Holiday fics are fun but not required!

-Feel free to include characters that I didn't specifically ask for if they fit your story

-I'm not big into slash pairings but if you'd like to do one I prefer femslash over slash.

-I love tropes like: x is sick and y must take care of them, we are trapped in a cabin and there's a rainstorm, we have to pretend to be married for the case, for plot reasons we must now live together (pre established relationships), AU's (coffee/book shop, we met through an online dating service, modern)

-Please no fic with incest!

the what: Persuasion is Jane Austen's final novel and centers around Anne Elliot and Captain Frederick Wentworth. Several years before the start of the novel Anne, the daughter of a baronet, fell in love with and was engaged to Frederick Wentworth, then a low ranking member of the Navy. She was persuaded to break it off. The novel starts with Wentworth, now rich from the spoils of war, returning to town.

If you don't want to read the book (or don't have time), may I recommend the 2007 version of the movie (likely available at your local library!)?

the why: I ask for Persuasion every single Yuletide because I love it so much. I love that Anne is quiet and demure and not some headstrong character like most other Austen heroines (*cough*Emma*cough*Elizabeth*cough*). Her flaws and weaknesses are apparent and have a real effect on the story. I love Wentworth remaining steadfast in his feelings and all the crap that Anne puts him through. I love her and Wentworth together and their cute little quiet romance blossoming throughout the book. I love that their romance endures!

the prompts: I got a really lovely AU last year and I wouldn't mind another AU this year (they are kind of my thing at the moment with this novel). I'd also love to read about their wedding or their post married life! Or take me back to when they courted the first time around. Really, anything with Anne and Frederick is great and I will love it.

the what: Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries is a 1920's set, Australian murder mystery show with the most feminist and kick ass main character, a lovely set of side characters, clever mysteries, the most beautiful costumes on the planet, and probably one of the most sexual tension driven romances I have seen in recent times. Did I also mention it is on Netlfix (at least in the US and the UK)?

the why: This show completely swept me off my feet. I LOVE IT TO PIECES (if you haven't seen this yet please take the time to watch the first few episodes). I really enjoy murder mystery shows and Miss Fisher is just so lovely in every single way. I also LOVE everyone in the supporting cast which generally doesn't happen for me (please include them if you can!). To be honest though, I am 100% into this show for Phryne and Jack's beautiful, tension filled romantic storyline. Oh my god, it is so good.[Spoiler (click to open)]
AND THEY FINALLY KISSED! CAUSE THEY LIKED EACH OTHER!! AND IT WAS CANON!!!

the prompts:
-Anything Jack/Phryne - established relationship, they're getting married (or not), they're solving a case, take a scene from the show and do the other's perspective or tell me about an off screen almost kiss or tell me what everyone is up to in S4 (cause oooo boy did the end of S3 make me need S4 like burning)

-Reverse roles! Phryne is the long suffering dectective and Jack is the newly minted PI

-I'd also love to see AU for this series too! Modern times!

-Please just lots of kissing and Jack/Phryne banter and we are golden

the what: Agatha Christie's Poirot is the television series based on (you guessed it) Agatha Christie's series of novels featuring the Belgian dectective and his "little grey cells." David Suchet (the actor who plays Poirot) is by far the best one I have seen. The series is available on Netflix (at least in the US) if you'd like to check it out!

the why: I have always been a big Agatha Christie fan (probably because I used to watch this show with my parents in my formative years when I was a kid) and specfically a Poirot fan (Miss Marple is kind of the worst but I digress). I find his character really fun and interesting with all of his idiosyncratics. The side characters of Miss Lemon, Chief Inspector Japp, and Captain Hastings are all fantastic and enjoyable. The show also does a great job with protraying the 30's which is really just a bonus.  It also helps that Poirot solves some pretty exciting mysteries.

the prompts: I'm not expecting an Agatha Christie level plotted out mystery (though, hey, if you want to do that go to town!) so I would love a character study of Poirot. What does he do on the weekends? How does he deal with cases when he can't quite solve them? How did he befriend/hire Miss Lemon? Or Hastings? Or you could go an AU direction! What is Poirot like in modern times?

Hopefully this letter was helpful for you! At the end of the day, I am going to love whatever you create so please don't feel any pressure! Yuletide is a fun thing so I hope you have fun working on it!

Thanks for your participation!
