Thanks for doing Yuletide! I hope you're excited (I'm excited!). I will love whatever you create - so no pressure! Hopefully you find this letter helpful. You can take my suggestions or completely ignore everything (though ideally not the "general stuff" section but you do you boo!
)

-I like happy stories! There can be angst but please happy endings!
-I love romance stories especially the smoldering ones that take like 300 pages for stuff to happen (also think this scene from grey's anatomy). BUT I also like friendship/gen stories.
-I don't like pregnancy fic. Please no fic about people being pregnant, finding out they are pregnant, having a baby (the birthing process or otherwise), wanting to have a baby or babies generally being in the fic. Even if it's canon.
-Sexy times and porn in the fic is ok but please have more going on then just boning!
-Prequels, sequels, "5 times x though this about y and 1 time they didn't" fics, the same scene from different perspectives, AUs, really pretty much anything is fine by me.
-Holiday fics are fun but not required!
-Feel free to include characters that I didn't specifically ask for if they fit your story. If there is someone I don't like specifically, I'll be sure to mention it!
-I'm not big into slash pairings but if you'd like to do one I prefer femslash over slash.
-I love tropes like: x is sick and y must take care of them, we are trapped in a cabin and there's a rainstorm, we have to pretend to be married for the case, for plot reasons we must now live together (pre established relationships), AU's (coffee/book shop, we met through an online dating service, modern), dark mirror episodes (aka like the Star Trek thing where it's an AU and they're all evil)
-Please no fic with incest!
the what: Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries is a 1920's, Australian set cozy murder mysery show. There are 3 seasons out and you can watch them all on Netflix!
the why: Everything about this show is PERFECT. The cast and it's characters are so so lovely and it's femnist and really all I ever want out of a TV show. The myseries are even pretty clever (yet they still make sense). Miss Fisher is such a wonderful character and honestly a tiny bit of a role model for me. She also has the most perfect wardrobe (aka the costuming for this show is top notch). Aside from every character being my favorite, I LIVE for the romance between Jack & Phryne. Everything about it speaks to the kinds of things I like in romances. He's sort of bashful and also TOTALLY respects her and what she's about. Jack sees Phryne as an equal and it makes me so so happy. I also LOVE how long it takes for their relationship to be a thing and the smoldering LOOKS and the breif like HAND TOUCHES and ahhhhh.
the prompts: All I want is like Phryne/Jack banter/cuteness. Like make a case or just have a quiet day at home but please, please give me some Phryne/Jack adorableness. I also love all the other characters so feel free to include whomever else you'd like! I think AUs for this could be fun too - what's modern Jack/Phryne (and everyone else) like?
the what: Death in Paradise is another cozy muder mystery - this time a stuffy British dectetive is sent to a tropical island to solve mysteries! It's such a bummer it was only 2 seasons.
the why: Ok, so, to start this show is not actually 2 seasons but

this show is dead to me because they killed Richard and I haven't it watched it since the first episode of s3. Like, they couldn't have just sent him back to England to be happy and maybe show up again in the far future? LIKE DID YOU REALLY HAVE TO KILL HIM, GOD.
With that out of the way, let me discuss what I love about this show and why you should watch it! I LOVE how much Richard hates St. Marie and then very slowly starts to love it? And I think a lot of that has to do with Camille. And I just generally love Camille and how she's great at her job and very no nonsense (even with Richard) and how she very early on realizes she has a crush/is falling for this weird, stuffy British man. AND THEN HE STARTS TO FEEL IT TOO and in the meantime they are solving cases in this super lush backdrop. AND THEY WALK ON THE BEACH AND TALK ABOUT FEELINGS SOMETIMES and ah what a lovely show this was.
the prompts: I would love some Camille/Richard cuteness - pre a relationship, when they're in one, as they create one, really just anything with Camille/Richard declaring feelings. I would also be super interested in a story where Richard takes Camille around London and like showcases all the things he loves about it.
the what: Persuasion is Jane Austen's final novel (and was released after her death) and centers around Anne Elliot, the long suffering daughter of a baronette. Before the novel starts, she is persuaded to forgo her happiness (aka her engagement to Frederick Wentworth, a sailor) BUT then that happiness turns up again as a Captain of his own ship and...well...super rich. Can they reconnect and find love again??
the why: I love this thing so so much. If you look at my past author letters, you'll see that I ask for this every year and it's honestly because I love it that much. I actually read the book for the first time this year and honestly I didn't like it as much as I liked the 2007 BBC adaptation? But basically I love Anne as a heroine and I love that the romance between Wentworth and Anne just endures forever. Ahhh they are such cuties.
the prompts: Anything Anne/Frederick is all I want in LIFE. Tell about when they are together the first time or when they are apart or during the events of the novel or afterwards or like really anytime. Make them happy! I also think a modern AU could be real fun for this (I got one a few years ago and it was great)! Please, please, have them holding hands and kissing and just generally being in love~~
the what: Shirokuma Cafe (Polar Bear's Cafe) is a ridiculous, surreal anime. It's literally about a Polar Bear (aptly named Polar Bear) that owns a cafe and the animals (Penguin, Panda, and others) thaty are the regulars and the people that work there. You can watch all of it on crunchy roll.
the why: I just...ok here's the thing, I love surreal, slice of life anime/mangas (e.g. Azumanga Diaoh, Youtsuba&!, Nichijou) and this is like the most surreal of all of those. I also really love how calm and nice this anime is. The characters are so quirky (Polar Bear's Japanese puns! Penguin accidentally dating like 8 other penguins at the same time! Panda being so so lazy and also loving panda merch!) and the plots are always ridiculous. I love the banter and friendship between everyone - it makes me feel all warm and happy inside.
the prompts: IDK honestly what I want for this fandom exepct bascially more episodes. Just have the chatracters doing something fun! I think this would be a good one for a Christmas-y theme.
