I love recording cold readings! In fact, that's how I recorded the longest podfic I ever did (the magical number seven (plus or minus two), for the record, for the first podbang *g*).

Anyway, this to say, cold readings YAY! I'm definitely downloading this one, and I promise to come tell you about it after I've listened (which might take some time though!).

Oh. Oh, oh, oh, oh. I just came home, and oh, honey. This broke my heart. The lesson here is not to assume that a light-hearted kinkmeme prompt = cheerful fic, especially when written by the wonderous weatherfront.) I definitely teared up in the middle of my crunches. Was able to last until I finished up and headed out before I let a few tears slip, but it was a near thing

IKR?! When I picked this fic to record, I hadn't even clocked the summary, I just picked it because I liked the title, liked weatherfront's work and it was a suitable length. Then, after weatherfront said yes, I read the summary and was like o_O Greeeeeaaaaaaat, I have picked a fic full of porn and french Mal-dialogue. I love french Mal-dialogue *sarcasm BUT THEN I RECORDED IT AND IT TURNED OUT TO HAVE NEITHER OF THOSE THINGS. I was mighty surprised (and not a little thankful).

But that, of course, meant I was somewhat taken aback by the intense sadness! Because I hadn't read it before, my delivery is mostly based on my recovering sore throat and the fact I was weeping for most of it. I haven't heard from weatherfront yet, but I really desperately hope she likes it and isn't embarrassed by my overly emotional reading D:

I'm sorry that this comment is so late...! It's just that-- well, what happened was-- so what happened was that-- I meant to listen to it today, but I couldn't wait, so I turned my lights off and started listening to it in bed last night. And I was prepared to enjoy it, but I really don't think I was prepared for-- in the middle of it, I started being kind of-- at some point, everything turned surreal. It was like I'd started dreaming the whole thing or something, I kept thinking that I was imagining everything, because I was just-- completely, completely blown away by your delivery, god it's giving me chills right now just thinking about it. And I couldn't actually go to sleep for a long while after your reading was over, but I knew that my thoughts were way too incoherent for me to tell you how I felt, right then. Well actually, it is not like I am being coherent now, is it... but it's hard, it really is, none of the words I know seem adequate for how much this affected me

No, no, not late at all! Podfic isn't really an instant gratification thing, so I'm actually really happy you found the time to listen to it so soon!

I am so glad you like this, you have no idea. I was really afraid you'd find it a bit embarrassing, listening to some British girl cry while reading something you'd written. I really love this story, I think it's incredibly beautiful and I loved recording it. My reading style already leant towards the slower, more measured tone, but sometimes I just had to pause to get around the lump in my throat. I've never been so affected while recording before
